ION Orchard kicks off GSS with special deals, life-sized maze for shoppers

The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) has just begun and retailers are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the annual shopping extravaganza.

Besides launching shopping deals from various brands, ION Orchard is featuring a life-sized maze. In 'The Maze Craze', shoppers have to scan as many QR codes as possible on their ION Orchard mobile application within the given time and win prizes based on the number of QR codes captured.

The maze will also transform into a game zone over two weekends (June 4-5 and June 11-12) where two pairs of players compete in a game of laser tag to find a pre-selected QR code within the area. These players will also have a GoPro strapped to them and footage of their game will then be provided to them in a 30-second Instagram video to share online.

Shoppers can participate in the 'The Maze Craze' from 11am-9pm daily and a game of laser tag on weekends from 1pm-2pm and 6pm-7pm, by presenting any same-day receipt. If you are an ION+ Rewards member or UnionPay cardmember, you get to use the express-Q to enjoy a tiered-up prize for participating in game.

The mall intends to make this year's GSS even more enticing and interactive by featuring a wide range of deals offered on their free ION Orchard mobile app via a special 'ION Holideals' tab.

With the app, shoppers can redeem GSS offers directly at participating outlets. Some of these brands include Fresh, Laneige, Kiehl's, Victoria's Secret, and Rabeanco.

Shoppers can also take part in a series of social media contests with shopping voucher prizes worth over $5,000. More than 150 shoppers stand a chance to walk away as winners just by sharing their #IONHolideals purchases and #TakeMeToION photos on Instagram or if they participate in weekly contests on Facebook.

Four ION Orchard shoppers will also stand a chance to walk away with $20 shopping vouchers each and GoPro memorabilia by taking an Instagram selfie at the GoPro desert adventure photo booth located at Basement 4 ION Station from June 2-12 with the hashtags #GoProSingapore #ThePlanetTraveller #IONgraphy.
